Chao & Eero since 2005
Our story is about the love of two people for each other and their love for creating jewelry. Born in Taiwan, the pursuit for the education of jewelry making brought Chao to the United States and then to Finland, where she met Eero in the classroom. Eventually, we decided to realize the dream of building our home and career in Lahti together, while making our jewelry known internationally. To mark the beginning of a new chapter in our life, Chao & Eero was founded on Valentine’s Day 2005.
Based in Lahti, a small city surrounded by forest and lakes, we make all the jewelry in our studio. Since moving to our current location at the historic Askonalue, our studio has been like our second home. We have created a wonderful working environment that is filled with different types of music most of the time. We make the jewelry with smiles and hope our jewelry will also bring smiles to people’s faces.
Chao’s designs often reflect the closeness between humans and nature, while with a subtle sense of humor, Eero’s designs carry bold confidence. Even though we have different approaches to designing, the effortless elegance resulting from our meticulous making process can be easily recognized as the signature style of Chao & Eero.
We want to create jewelry that will be cherished through generations, so our jewelry is meant to be worn and can be repaired. As Master Goldsmiths, we value the time and skills that we put into our work. We believe our uncompromising attitude towards the profession is evident in our jewelry.
After years of tirelessly working, we have established ourselves and are renowned in the jewelry field. We take immense pride in our work and our dedication to Finnish contemporary jewelry. Both of us were awarded the prestigious title of Goldsmith of the Year by the Finnish Goldsmith Association, which was founded in 1905.
